Mrs. Terry L. Briggs

Terry Lynn Briggs, a wife, mother, devoted family member, and a follower of Jesus
Christ our Lord was born Terry Lynn Blair to Gloria Jean Ramey and Robert "Big Daddy"
Washington, in Dubach, Louisiana, on August 31, 1954.

In 1963, Gloria Jean moved Terry to Flint, Michigan, landing her in the state where she would
not only find her career but eventually the love of her life.

Terry Lynn's favorite childhood pastime was traveling back and forth between Louisiana
and Michigan with her late aunt, Christine Nelson, and her late uncle, Charlie Nelson. Terry
attended Northern High School in Flint, Michigan, where she graduated.
Her life changed for the better on April 18, 1974, when she married the love of her life. Her
"Honey" James C. Briggs, Sr. This precious union of forty-nine years gifted the world four
children and twenty-two grandchildren.

Terry Lynn's Career at General Motors began in 1976. A year into the job, while running late
for work, she unintentionally met Erinerstine Johnson. She and Erinerstine quickly became
friends and their bond grew into a forty-five-year long friendship, wherein, Terry would make
Erinerstine the God Mother of all four of her children.

Terry was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend B.T.
Anderson since she was a young girl. In 1976, her husband, James Briggs, Sr., joined her at the
church making Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior. It was from there that he and his honey would
serve God and his people together. Terry's love for God and the church was evident in her
serving, from singing in the choir, and working on the Usher Board, to serving on the Hospitality
Committee. She lived a life that was glorifying to the Lord.

In 2006, Terry and her Honey made a lifetime move to her home state, Louisiana, settling in
to enjoy life, family, and retirement. This brought great happiness to her, for she adored the
fresh country air and loved her family immensely.

On August 28, 2023, an Angel, was sent from Heaven to bring joy to the lives of everyone
she encountered, laid down her life here on Earth to spend life eternal with Her Father in
Heaven. She was preceded in death by her mother, Gloria Jean Ramey; father, Robert 'Hal'
Washington; brother, Lonzell Blair; sister, Vanessa Blair; daughter, Michele Briggs; grandson,
Cornell Briggs, Jr.; and granddaughters, Nila Ali Briggs and Danasha Briggs.

Her precious memories will forever be cherished by: daughter, Aquialla Briggs; sons, Cornell
Briggs, Jahmonze Briggs, Jeremiah Briggs, and James Briggs, Jr.; grandchildren, Daquarei
Briggs, Lawrence Bledso, GloriLynn Briggs, Tyshell Sparks, Kiasha Briggs, Jataeyah Briggs,
Adrianna Briggs, Camron Briggs,Uriah Aubrey, Josiah Aubrey, JaQuavion Aubrey, Isaiah
Aubrey, Zaniya Briggs, Iyanna Briggs, Serenity Briggs, Cornell Briggs, and Jahleel Briggs;
great-grands, Lawrence Bledso, Jr., Jamari McCoy, and Kaleb Williams; goddaughters, Debra
Grey and Monique Jones; sisters, Denitrice Jones, Hedy Snelson, Ramona Gant, and Loretta
Gant; aunt, Barbra Holmes; brother, Harold 'Bernard' Gant; uncle, John 'BoJack' Gipson;
sisters-in-law, Betty Henderson, Thelma Taylor, Catherine Martin, and Milderd Bell-Baldon;
brothers-in-law, Rashed Shariff, Edward Briggs, and Charles Briggs; and a host of nieces,
