Obituary

Brother Steven Andrews transitioned to glory on July 30, 2020, after sixty-one years of commendable life. He was the seventh of seven children born to the late Willie and Vernita Andrews on October 19, 1958.

His family instilled in him strong Christian values, and he accepted Jesus Christ at an early age at the

Mt. Union Baptist Church in Marion, Louisiana. He later became an active member of the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas, under the pastorage of the Reverend Dr. Curtis Wallace. Steven loved singing in the choir and participating in many other church activities.

Steven is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as a member of the world renowned Wayne family, who certified as having the most family members to graduate from Grambling State University, more

than any other university in the world. He earned a bachelor's degree in Accounting from Grambling State University and was employed with Exxon Mobil Oil in Dallas, Texas, State Farm Insurance, and other national corporations during his career.

Steven loved to cook and enjoyed family gatherings. He was a boulevardier dresser and a fun loving person who cherished his friends and relatives.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: one sister, Dr. VerJanis A. (Gerald) Peoples of Baton Rouge; five brothers, Leroy, (Mildred) Willie, Jr., Frank (Evelyn), Francis (Mae), and Bobby (Jane) all of Marion, Louisiana; uncle, Jones Lee (Ceola) Wayne, Sr., of Marion, Louisiana; and his favorite aunt, Ida Bell Ford of Kansas City, Kansas; one goddaughter, Chyna Marche' of Dallas, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends
