Roger "Buckwheat" Weathers was born to the late R.C Weathers Sr and Luezell Williams Weathers on January 3, 1966. He was the baby of fifteen children. Roger join Springhill CME Church at an early age. He attended Ringgold High School where he graduated in May 1984. After graduating from high school Roger began working at Dixie Dandy grocery store in Ringgold. He later begins working at Acme Brick Company along side his brothers Richard and Russell. After the plant went out of business he then was employed at Debbie Broadway Sawmill, after closing of the mill he then traveled to Coushatta where he was employed at Almond Brothers for several years until he advanced into a better career at Idaho Timer in Coushatta.
Roger "Buckwheat" loved sorts in every capacity. His favorite football team was the "Dallas Cowboys!" He loved being playing cards but must of all he loved being with family and friends having a backyard party.
On Thursday August 13, 2020, while looking out the window a bird kept visiting him, he was getting tired and he knew his time was here. He closed his eyes for the last time into eternity. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded into death by his parents R.C. and Luezell Weathers, his son Corvell J'MonWright, his two sisters Fannie Mae Williams and Lue Willie Weathers and his two brothers Ruzell "Frank" Weathers and Ray Doyle Weathers, his maternal and paternal grandparents, his niece Teresa as well as his aunts and uncles.
He leaves to cherish his memories, a special friend Carla Mingo the mother of his three children, Roger Mingo, KeAndrious Mingo, and Shatypical Mingo all of Minden, La who he all loved very much. And two special people he also helped raised Brandy and DreAndre Mingo. Three Brothers: Richard (Daphne) Weathers of Dubberly, La. R.C. "Tom" Weathers, Jr. and Robert Weathers both of Pasco, Wa. Seven sisters Shirley Weathers, Brenda (Bert) Germany, Glenda Weathers, and Mary Weathers all of Ringgold, La. Clara Weathers of Heflin, La, Jessie Weathers and Rosetta Weathers of Pasco, Wa. Two Aunts Bessie Cook of Ringgold and Atrice Palmer of Joplin, Mo, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, one best friend in particular, Brian Whitfield.
