Ricky Ray Glasper of Springhill, LA passed away peacefully on March 9, 2023, surrounded by family. He was born in Shreveport, LA on May 05/03/1960.
He was the son of the late Napoleon Glasper and Clara Smith. He attended Woodlawn high school in Shreveport, LA. On April 22,1987, he married the love of his life Mrs. Shirley Glasper in Magnolia Arkansas.
Ricky enjoyed listening to R&B/soul music. He also enjoyed watching old western cowboy movies. He enjoyed going to the stores and shopping for eloquent clothes. He had a wide selection of nice clothes and shoes that he took pride in keeping clean. Another favorite hobby of his was putting on nice clothes, just to go to the store. Ricky Glasper enjoyed fishing with his grandsons, Uncle Roosevelt, and friends. He also enjoyed showing people the fish that he had caught. Mr. Glasper was a good cook as well. He could cook so well that his wife gave him the nick name (Chef Combo). His favorite football team was the Dallas Cowboys. One of the highlights of his life was when he and his grandson went to the Dallas Cowboys' game. After he experienced the Dallas Cowboy game, he came home and told everyone in Camelot that he was at that game last week. He enjoyed making the people around him laugh by telling jokes. Ricky was a man of his word. Whenever he told you that he would do something, he would ensure that it was done. He was a strong man of integrity and full of love to those who loved him.
He is preceded in death by Lealer Bell Diggs (Maternal Grandmother), Blanchard Glasper (Paternal Grandmother), Napoleon Glasper (Father), and Serna Layton (Niece).
He survived by his wife of thirty-six years, Mrs. Shirley Glasper. His mother Clara Smith, Siblings: Charles of Kansas City Missouri, Diane Henry of Shreveport, LA, Darren Lewis of Shreveport, LA, Benney Lee Layton of Shreveport, LA. Stepchildren: Patrica Moore of New Iberia, LA Tangi Baldwin of Tampa Bay FL, Demitris Moore of Springhill, LA, and Cassandra Moore (Willie) of Cullen, LA. Aunt and Uncles: Cherry Madison, Annie Lee McCainy (Leon), Hazel Hamiliton, Roosevelt Lewis, Lizzie Lewis, Rodell Lewis and Melvin Lewis all reside in Shreveport, LA. Twelve Grandchildren and eleven grandchildren. Four Special ones that he raised D'Mekeus Cook Sr, Roderick Cook, DiAbolique and Dimardj Moore. He has several nieces, Nephews, and Friends. His Favorite cousins were Billy Gissom and Jessie Roy Handerson.
