On Monday, February 13, 2023, hearts were burning and eyes were watering from
many people due to the sudden death of a loyal and devoted mother, grandmother,
and great grandmother, Sister Maxine Thomas Alexander.
Maxine Thomas Alexander was born to the late Sylvia Hollinquest Thomas and
Charles "Sam" Thomas on October 23, 1945 in Simsboro, Louisiana. She was the first
of five children.
At an early age, she accepted Christ and joined the Holland Grove Baptist Church.
She attended Crawford High School, Class of 1964.
She united in holy matrimony to the late Ordia Alexander. She became the mother
of two children; her daughter, Cynthia Alexander preceded her in death and Tyrone
Alexander of Arcadia, LA.
Maxine was well known for her loving spirit, beautiful smile and outstanding
culinary skills.
Maxine was known to be one of the best cooks in the Arcadia community, who was
always called upon to cook. Maxine was loved by so many of people. She enjoyed and
loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and family.
Preceded in death by, parents; Charles and Sylvia Thomas, Husband; Ordia Alexander,
daughter; Cynthia Alexander, sisters Gracie Thomas Winzer and Delores Thomas
Hadnott.
She leaves to cherish her memories, to her sister Geraldine Norsworthy of Houston,
TX and brother Donald (Carolyn) Thomas of Arcadia, LA. son Tyrone Alexander,
Grandchildren Natasha Alexander, DeAndre Alexander, Ricky Cockerham, Sicely
Harris, Ty'Reneshia Coleman, Tyron Alexander, Ty'Monyea Abney and 16 greatgrandchildren all of Arcadia,LA.
