Obituary

"Praise the LORD, who is my rock. He trains my hands for war and gives my fingers skill for battle."

LaMarcus Catrell Willis, Sr. , a phenomenal husband, father, son, brother and friend, was born March 17, 1985, to his loving parents, Dorothy Willis and Larry Williams in Farmerville, Louisiana.

His decision to make Christ his personal Savior during his younger years came while attending Sweet Union Baptist Church in Spearsville, Louisiana. With faith as his foundation, LaMarcus set on a path of life filled with happiness.

Affectionately known as Cookie by his family and friends, he attended school in both Union Parish, Louisiana and Union County, Arkansas. His interest in mechanics and operating with his hands began to emerge even in his teens. He later relocated to Homer, Louisiana, where he began working with Memorial Funeral Home as a field operator when he was not enhancing his career as an auto mechanic.

LaMarcus united with his forever love, Alisha Elliott, on March 17, 2013. To this union, three children were born, completing their loving family of seven. He adored the family they created together, and ensured Alisha was cared for as the queen of his life while they ensured their children lived a well-rounded and enjoyable life.

His ability to diagnose and repair almost any mechanical problem came naturally, making him a doctor in his own right, using his hands and entrepreneurial skills to heal the worries of others when it came to their vehicles. Not only did he ease the worries of his clients, but his vibrant, friendly personality and great sense of humor added another level of comfort to them and anyone that came into his presence.  The joy and happiness that rested inside of him was infectious. When LaMarcus was not working and expanding his business, he found peace in spending time with his family and horses.

Cookie, a peaceful and hardworking man, answered his Heavenly Father's call to eternal rest on July 29, 2022, reuniting with his two brothers Quientine Willis and LaTerrance Willis, along with his grandparents Lee Ella Brown and Charles Williams.  His transition leaves his loved ones many fond memories wrapped in laughter and joy.  Remaining to reflect on the life of a wonderful family man are: his devoted wife Alisha, five children: LaMarkel Heard, DeMarlo Elliot, Caleb Willis, LaMarcus Willis, Jr., Mekhi Knighton, his mother Dorothy Smith (James), his father Larry Williams (Beverly), grandmother Alean Williams, four sisters: Contessa Loyd, Angel Willis, Careonia Williams, Audrianna George (Carlton), and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
