Obituary

With hearts of sorrow, The Memorial Funeral Home Staff requests your prayers for the family and friends of

Mrs. Kimberly Hamilton-Harper

Kimberly Kaye Harper, affectionately known as "Kim," was born March 27, 1964, to her
biological birth mother, the late Louis Jean Sims. Kim was the seventh child of eight
children. However, at the tender age of six months, Kim's biological mother entrusted the
care of her daughter to the family of David Taylor, Jr., and Eula Taylor in Homer, Louisiana.

In result, she was received with love and the proper affection. In her early youth, Kim united
with Colquitt Freewill Baptist Church and was baptized under the leadership of her father,
Bishop David Taylor, Jr.

Kim was united in holy matrimony with Terry Harper on February 14, 1996, when they
cohesively raised three boys within their union.

Kimberly attended Homer High School, where she was an active and dedicated member of Homer's pep squad.
Kim graduated from Homer High School with the class of 1982. Since she was a young
girl, Kim always aspired to be a nurse. However, she sacrificed her aspirations of being a
nurse in exchange for raising her three boys and at times working two jobs simultaneously
to prioritize her children.

Nonetheless, in the year 2000, 18 years removed
from her high school graduation date, Kim decided to pursue her childhood dreams
of becoming a nurse and attended Northwest Louisiana Technical College in Minden,
Louisiana. After two years of secondary education and perseverance in nursing school,
she graduated and received her license to practice as a licensed practical nurse (LPN)
in 2002. Kim was extremely knowledgeable in the nursing field and approached her
profession with superb enthusiasm and devotion. She exemplified compassion, empathy,
and tender, loving care for all of her patients and built great relationships with her
peers and coworkers. She embodied the qualities of a great nurse during her seven-year
tenure in the nursing field.

After Kim's seven-year tenure as a nurse, Kim decided to make a pivot
in life and went into business for herself as a Family Child/Day Care
Provider from her living residence due to unforeseen circumstances.

Kim had always been a caring and genuine individual, and her new
career path was a true testimony to her character and the loving spirit
she was. Kim cared for several children in the Haynesville community.

Most importantly, Kim accepted any child who walked through her door
with open arms, and she cared for all of them as they were her own. Kim
was able to serve as a pillar in the community as a child care provider
from 2010 until her recent decline in health in 2023.

Kim transitioned and entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 31,
2023, at 4:30 PM at her residence surrounded by loved ones.

Remaining to cherish the many years of precious
memories include her loving husband of 27 years, Terry Harper; her three devoted children, Kentario Aubrey
(Chanticia), Kelandre' Hamilton, and Kelonte' Hamilton; grandchildren, Ayden and Ace Aubrey; father, David
Taylor, Jr. (Ruth); seven siblings, two sisters, Barbara Bryant of Marietta, GA, and Donna Bergen of Camden, NJ,
and five brothers, Caster Sims of Haynesville, LA, Edward Sims (Leslie) of Portland, OR, Gary Sims, a resident

the communities of Haynesville and Homer, ALL the children whom she assisted in rearing in the Haynesville

her.

Kim was preceded in death by her two mothers, Louis Jean Sims and Eula Taylor; brother, Billie Joe Ramsey; and
daughter, Shaneidra Aubrey.
