A Time To Be Born

Mr. Joseph Grigsby was born on Monday, December 26, 1960,
in Springhill, Louisiana. He was the fifth of nine children to
the late John Wesley Grigsby, Sr., and Willie Ester Grigsby.
Joseph, fondly known as "Joe Joe," was a graduate of Springhill
High School, class of 1978. He was a talented athlete who loved
playing sports and was a member of the Lumberjacks football
team. In his pastime, he enjoyed a pick-up basketball game
with family and friends, especially his son and daughter.

After graduation, Joe Joe followed in his father's footsteps and
spent forty years in the trucking and logging industry. When
he wasn't working, you could find him on the basketball court
mentoring and coaching his and the neighborhood kids, or
shooting pool with his brothers.

Joe Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann
Grigsby; parents, John Wesley Grigsby, Sr. and Willie Ester
Grigsby; stepson, Anthony Rankin; grandmother, Minnie Bell
Williams; uncles, Henry Williams and Arthur Williams;
and aunts, Lula B. Sykes, Josie Rhone, and Patsy Adams. He
leaves to cherish his precious memories, legacy, and love: his
children, Marnesia (Ann) Bryant of Denver, CO, Martellius
Bryant of Denver, CO, Tiffany Harris of Texarkana, AR, and
Eric Rankin of Texarkana, AR; siblings, John W. Grigsby
of Dallas, TX, Mary Hawthorne of Texarkana, TX, Janice
Hauser of Dallas, TX, David (Lynn) Grigsby of Springhill,
LA, Jeffery Grigsby of Springhill, LA, Rosa Grigsby of Paris,
TX, Marion Crooks of Vista, CA, and LaRhonda Grigsby
of Springhill, LA; as well as a host of grandchildren, nieces,
nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and many, many friends.
We all will cherish and miss him forever!
