Mr. Joe "Carl" Lowery was born on January 13,
1937, in Haynesville, Louisiana, to the late Joe Lowery and Deza
Lee Lowery. After a long and fruitful life, God granted him wings
on March 25, 2023. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael
Carl Lowery, his siblings, Dionne Hunter, Eddie Lee Lowery, and
Huey P. Lowery.
Carl married the late Pearlie Mae Lowery in 1957, and fourteen
children were born to this union. They lived on a small piece
of heaven in Summerfield, Louisiana. He was a son, father,
grandfather, husband, cement finisher, repairman, cabinet maker,
home builder, and farmer. There was literally nothing he couldn't
do or teach anyone how to do.
Carl leaves to cherish his loving memory: his children, Mary
(Willie) Gilbert of Moore, OK, Marianne (late Michael) Lowery
of Warner Robbins, GA, Jerry (Sheila) Lowery of Shreveport, LA,
Minnie Hester of Shreveport, LA, Grindyl O'Neal of Camden, AR,
Abigail (JB) Howard of Houston, TX, Carla Lowery of Princeton,
LA, Marla (Christopher) Thomas of Haughton, LA, Venus (Victor)
Williams of Grand Prairie, TX, Tonie Lowery of Frisco, TX,
Anthony Lowery of Houston, TX, Stephen (Charae) Lowery of
Phoenix, AZ, Kristal (Brandon) Farley of Springhill, LA, and
Curbie (Idris) Ibrahim of Lagos, Nigeria; 28 grandchildren and 23
great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family,
and friends.
