MY LIFE
Wow, I never imagined completing my life story in twenty-five years, but James 4:14 reminds us, "For what is life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away."
On September 5, 1998, my mother and father, Tasha Jackson and Melvin Doze, smothered me with love after my entrance into this world. A few days later, we went home to meet my siblings Javonte, Jerrika, and Jerrell. Jarrius strolled into the family a few years later. We grew up happy and mischievous - there were days we tried to tear the house down, while others we had so much fun just being together.
Upon entering Haynesville schools, Dad encouraged me to take my frustrations out on the football field instead of my siblings. Little did I know, I was in for the time of my life; my skills were developed, and I became an outstanding player and student leader. I learned what teamwork could do, provide CHAMPIONSHIPS and build long lasting friendships! Yes, I made history and set records on the world-renowned Haynesville Golden Tornado Championship Teams of 2015 & 2016. Man, those were some memorable times! During my 12th grade year, my family opted for me to relocate to Texas and attend Cedar Hill High School. I was torn between leaving the Class of 2018 and meeting new friends, but of course I made new ones at my new school. Time flew by quickly, and it was time for me to move to higher heights. When my time ended in Cedar Hill, I chose Highland Community College, Highland, Kansas as my next home of education and football strengthening. There my skills were further developed in football, but somewhere along the way, I had a change in life and football became a faded dream. As with anything, as one thing fades, new visions and beginnings surface.
The memories and experiences from the years of being a part of some amazing teams helped me become the man I was in my young adult years, but deep down I knew there was more to life and living. In search of answers, I worshipped at Roadside COGIC in Emerson, Arkansas. This journey not only led me to get to know God, and in the process, I met a new ME! During this time, I looked forward to the talks with my God brothers, who were encouraging without judgement. No, all my decisions weren't perfect, but they were lessons. Even in those lessons, I always felt and knew God was with me every moment.
With God, my family and my dreams aligned in my view, I still felt I had more to do. However, on Monday, February 5, 2024, God whispered, told me the house on the hill overlooking miles and miles of His beautiful land that I'd dream of and told my mom I was ready. I gracefully entered yet another new thing, but this one was one I'd read, heard and dreamed about – a new, eternal life free of any worries and filled with limitlessness . There were so many things and dreams yet to be fulfilled: utilizing my technician's skills at Pro Pipe in Grand Prairie, TX; conversations with my parents, Tasha Shelton (Bonnie) and Melvin Doze; graduation for my daughters, London Jackson and Skylar Jackson; family gatherings with my sister, Jerrika Jackson, brothers: Javonte Harris (Alexis), Jerrell Jackson, and Jarrius Jackson; grandmother, Annie Jackson; great-grandmother, Inez Copeland; marriage to my fiancée, Samiya Grider; and reminiscing with aunties, uncles, extended family and friends.
All my love,
Jamarceon
