Etoy
Moore
October 9, 1962 – July 9, 2024
Our Builder's Story
Mr. Etoy Moore 1962 - 2024
O Christ, the Master Carpenter, who at last through wood and nails purchased our
whole salvation; wield well your tools in the workshop of your world, so that we who
come rough-hewn to your workbench may be fashioned to a truer beauty by your hand.
On Tuesday, October 9, 1962, a baby boy, was born to the union of
the late Leroy Moore and Emma Lou Goosby Moore in Shreveport,
Louisiana and was given the name Etoy. He is one of eight children
born into this marriage.
Etoy was educated in the Bienville Parish School System and later
graduated in May of 1980 from Ringgold High School. While in
school, Etoy played the drums in the high school band.
Being reared in a Christian home, Etoy came to know our Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ was baptized at an early age at the family
church, Evergreen Baptist Church, then under the pastorship of the
late Reverend South.
After graduation, Etoy learned a special craft, construction, and became employed with
Benton & Brown, Hope Construction, & L. J. Earnest. Due to health challenges, he was
no longer able to work, but he continued to work hard being a handyman, doing private
construction jobs, which can be seen from Ringgold to parts of Texas. From reading
blueprints, and working on floors, to buildings, concrete finishing, and anything else you
could name, ETOY COULD DO IT! Instilling a strong work ethic and wanting his children
to become entrepreneurs, he went on to help his children establish their businesses,
Strong Arm Construction and M & M Construction. He worked right alongside
them as a consultant, and doing this, he spent quality time teaching his grandchildren
his craft. Etoy loved the Dallas Cowboys, but most of all, his grandchildren, who were
his heart. Being small in body structure, Etoy could be explained as a gentle giant for
his large loving heart! If he could help you, he would. In his spare time, Etoy enjoyed
visiting with his family, fishing, and riding around town.
"Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Come
unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Come to Me, all
you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
– Matthew 11:28

those loved ones who preceded him in death, which include his: father, Leroy Moore;
a niece, Renee Stevenson-Bennett; two brothers-in-law, Eddie Allums and Johnny
