May 29, 1936 – April 19, 2022
Sister Dorothy F. Williams was born to Ruby Walker Calloway and Alfonso Calloway on May 20, 1936. She became a born again Christian at the age of 10 when she accepted Christ and was baptized at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Dubberly, Louisiana. She lived a beautiful life in Christ and served at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Dubberly, Louisiana, and Trinity Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana.
After graduating from high school, she lived in Richmond, California. There she studied nursing and developed a love for golf. She continued to serve, study, and represent Christ at Saint. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. She served as a faithful choir member and a praise and worship leader at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and at Trinity Baptist Church. She lived in Richmond for several years; however, she returned to Dubberly, Louisiana to help her, then, paralyzed mother. She moved to Annapolis, MD thirteen years before her death.
During her lifetime she has worked at Doctor's Hospital, Shreveport, Louisiana for many years as well as a care taker in a private home.
Her favorite scripture that she shared often with family members Is Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your path.
Her favorite song was " Baptize Me Jesus"
She was preceded in death by her parents Alphonso and Ruby Calloway, her brother George Calloway as well as her daughter, Aida Hill.
Her precious memories will be forever cherished by her son in law Vincent Hill, Adult Grandchildren; Rashaun, Vincent Jr, and Jalisa Hill ,Maryland; her sisters Jessie F. Armstrong, Shreveport, Louisiana and Oretha Pope (Don L. Pope, Sr.) Minden, Louisiana
Additionally, she will be fondly remembered by her great grand children, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and numerous cousins.
