Anthony Joseph Figaro was born on August 11, 1958, to the late Deanna Guidry. He was born in Lafayette, LA, and raised in Rayne, LA, where he graduated from Rayne High School in 1976.
He went on to further his education at McNeese State University on a football scholarship. Here, he met the love of his life, Bobbie Jean Standokes. He received his BS in Physical Education in 1981. He married the love of his life on June 11, 1983, and relocated to Shreveport, LA. He taught at Herndon Magnet School for 33 years, where he gained his name "Coach." He loved all sports and was a die heart New Orleans Saints fan. At the age of 14, he accepted Christ. He was a member of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church under the leadership of Father John Bosco, where he attended faithfully until he became ill.
On February 8, 2022, Anthony became ill and transitioned this life on March 3, 2022.
He leaves a legacy of memories to be cherished by his wife, Bobbie, daughter, Brittany, Sisters Maebell Carter (Tracy), Donna Wheeler, Quintricia Carpenter (Yuseff). Brothers Xavier Harrison (Theresa) Clarence Guidry, Jr, Godchildren, Staffanie Thomas, Destiny Darby, and Joshua Douglas, and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, students, colleagues, and friends.
Anthony was preceded in death by his mother, Deanna Guidry, grandparents Harold and Anita Figaro, sisters Selena Broussard and Mary Figaro.
He loved his family, his church, his school, and his students. He was a father figure to many and taught them many life lessons.
