Obituary
Henry Johnnie Ford, Sr. A.K.A.
(Big Bud) born February 2, 1938, the 10th
child of thirteen born to Walter and Moattie
Ford. He was born in Plain Dealing,
Louisiana he received his education at
Southern University school for the Deaf in
Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Where he learned
communication skills for Deaf/Hard of
Hearing, Basis, and Life skills.
At an early age, he accepted Christ. He moved
to California in 1957. He joined Athens Baptist
Church in Los Angeles, California. Henry had
several jobs before landing at Hughes Aircraft. He worked there
for 18 years.
Henry meets his sweetheart Dorothy of Harbor City, California
later married her in 1961.
In 1976 he moved back home to his family hometown Plain
Dealing, Louisiana. He fellowships at Israelite Baptist Church
until his health failed.
In his spare time, Henry enjoyed fishing, hunting, swimming,
and traveling. He loved Family. He traveled a lot with his family
throughout States, Mexico, and Canada. He stated "you have
Family members everywhere and I will show you"
As a family, he also enjoyed Bowling, Basketball, Football, and most
of all the Bayou Classic.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Walter and Moattie Ford,
siblings: Mary Wade, N.L. Ford, Lucille Spence, Walter Ford Jr.,
Eula Hall, Eura Dell Ford, Porter L. Ford, L.B. Ford, Edwina
McCree, Glen Ford, son in law Eric Grigsby, grandchildren Elijah
Grigsby, Ezekiel Grigsby, and Amanda Ford
Leaving to continue his Legacy: his wife of 60 years Dorothy
Ford and 5 children: his daughters, Sylvia (Dennis) Williams,
Lavorsia Ford, and Shirley Ford-Grigsby; his sons, Henry J. Ford
Jr, and Heyne (Adrian) Ford; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-two
great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; his sisters, Sylvia
Henderson and Evelyn (Marie) Sittig; a host of in-laws: Isaac
(Francine) Marshell, Eddie (Shelly) Marshell, Ollie Washington,
Janice (Larry) Boone, Florene Peterson and Myrtle Marshell; and
a host of God-children, Nephews, Nieces, Great Nephews, Great
Nieces, Cousins, Family, and Friends.
