Obituary

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul:

He leadeth me in the path of righteousness for his name's sake. Psalms 23:1-3

On Friday, March 11,2022, our God Almighty sent a host of heavenly angels to accompany his child home. Bettie Ruth Brown was born to the union of J.D. and Elizabeth Laverne Brown on February 3, 1951. Bettie accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Mt Zion Freewill Baptist Church.  She later joined the Friendship Baptist Church where she served with grace as an active member of the Pastor's aide, Pack the Pew program, and member of the Haynesville Community Choir. In addition, helped in preparing delicious food for the members of the clergy and church members for various programs and events,

Bettie Ruth Brown graduated from Woodson High School in Haynesville, Louisiana in 1969. Upon completion of high school, she received an undergraduate degree in Nursing from Southern Arkansas University (SAU) in Magnolia, Arkansas.

Bettie began her nursing career at the Haynesville Hospital in Haynesville, Louisiana as a Certified Nurse's Aide. After obtaining her Nurse's Degree from SAU, she transferred to the Springhill Medical Center in Springhill, Louisiana where she worked as a Staff (OB,ER, ICU) nurse for many years and eventually became a Nursing Supervisor and In-Service Director. Bettie Ruth later worked for Claiborne Home Health where she served as a staff nurse and eventually Director of Home Health administration. Bettie was a staple in the community of Haynesville, where she helped family and well as our community with health care and health care education.

Because of her upbringing and training, Bettie was a soldier of God and a mighty prayer warrior. No matter who you were, she had that caring spirit and would reach out a helping hand and loving heart to help. She was a very special lady who really loved her family and enjoyed socializing with her family and friends especially during holidays, special events, White Acres Trail rides and soul food Sundays. Bettie's greatest attributes and contributions were to her family, church family and friends. She made these contributions without hesitation and put her heart into what she did. From the Mt Zion Freewill Baptist Church, Friendship Baptist Church, Haynesville Community Choir, North Claiborne Hospital, Claiborne Home Health, and Haynesville community, Bettie touched and affected many lives and crossed paths to influence many. She was an angel on earth.

Our Mighty God sent the angel of silence to the bedside of our beloved sister. He whispered "Beautiful Flower, come go with me to our Father's House where there is peace, love, and joy."  Then He sealed her lips with the finger of love.

Bettie was preceded in death by her mother and father, brother Dr. Willie D. Brown aka(Slick), and sister Attorney Brenda Faye Brown Bradford.

She leaves to cherish her memories her special love Charles White, two sons Taijuan(Deebe), Brandon aka(Chad), one daughter Tiffany Thomas; seven sisters, Bonnie Richardson(Chris), Emma Armstrong, Linda S Brown Levingston all of Haynesville, LA; Minnie Roberts (Justus) of Tampa, FL; Sandra Ward (Benjamin) of Grand Prairie, TX, Laverne Brown of Dallas TX, Geneva Brown of Shreveport, LA;  one brother David W. Brown(Katrina) of Mansfield Tx; and three grandchildren Miranda Abney Williams(Willie), Taijuan Thomas II, MaKenna Thomas; two great-grandchildren Keylen and Kameron; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
